The Opportunity
Join Veolia as Project Portfolio Technical Manager and drive ecological transformation while leading cutting-edge water treatment solutions across Victoria. This senior technical leadership role offers the opportunity to manage masterplanning, project development, and regulatory compliance for water treatment projects while leading a skilled team of 2-5 technical professionals. Based in Melbourne or Bendigo, you'll work at the forefront of sustainable water technology, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and innovative solutions. The role combines technical expertise with people management, offering significant career development in a company committed to environmental sustainability and ecological transformation. You'll be instrumental in shaping water treatment infrastructure while promoting best practice design and sustainable technical solutions that reduce carbon emissions.

What you'll be responsible for

Lead technical masterplanning activities, develop concept designs and technical specifications, and ensure compliance with these throughout the project delivery lifecycle

Manage and mentor your team of technical managers and engineers while coordinating additional technical resources and ensuring high-quality deliverables

Navigate external stakeholder regulatory and governance processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and industry standards

Oversee investment committee input, quality control, and technical governance throughout the project lifecycle, including design reviews and commissioning activities

Provide commercial and project management support, including financial model input, contractor management, and budget forecasting for technical work.
What you'll need to be successful

Degree in Engineering, preferably Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

10+ years demonstrated experience in technical engineering and management of water treatment processes

Demonstrated experience in leading the development of significant business cases

Demonstrated experience successfully managing internal and external stakeholders and regulators within the Victorian water industry
-
5+ years demonstrated experience working in a capital works project portfolio team
-
Knowledge and understanding of WHS and environmental legislation and regulations specific to water treatment processes and project delivery.
