The Opportunity
Veolia ANZ is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at BHP Olympic Dam in South Australia (5725).
Reporting to the BHP Contract Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all waste management operations, maintenance, and control activities on site.

What you'll be responsible for
-
Leading workplace health, safety, and environmental initiatives

Fostering a safety-first culture and driving continuous improvement

Managing contract profit and loss accountability

Ensuring operational compliance with government and statutory regulations

Overseeing employee training and development
-
Developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, both internal and external

Delivering clear and timely communication to all stakeholders

Analysing and optimising route performance to improve efficiency
-
Implementing effective solutions to operational challenges as they arise
What you'll need to be successful
-
5 years + experience in a Leadership and Management role
-
BHP Olympic Dam Experience highly desirable
-
Sound analytic skills and ability to read reports
-
Strong people skills, including a strong ability to communicate and negotiate
-
Experience dealing with dangerous goods and EPA transport is highly desirable
-
Experience working or managing landfill or similar
-
A strong safety focus
-
Bachelor Degree or Trade ( Engineering, Business or Mechanical Preferred) is a bonus but not required
