The Opportunity

Veolia has new openings for experienced Diesel Mechanics and Mechanical Trade Assistants. Working in a close-knit, motivated team in Welshpool, you will service, maintain and repair our modern heavy vehicle fleet to ensure that all vehicles work to maximum efficiency in a safe, environmentally sound manner in line with regulatory and Veolia standards.

  • $56 per hour base. Afternoon shift 12:30PM-9:00PM Monday - Friday.

What you'll be responsible for

  • To service maintain and repair plant, equipment and fleet vehicles in a timely manner
  • Complete scheduled daily work tasks as directed by the Workshop Supervisor in an efficient and timely manner
  • Complete work orders and part requisitions daily and in full
  • Record, monitor stock and part levels and advise any discrepancies
  • Drive Veolia’s ‘Always Safe’ safety culture

What you'll need to be successful

  • Australian recognised heavy vehicle mechanical trade qualification (for tradesperson roles).
  • HR truck licence or be willing to obtain upon employment
  • A willingness to learn and upskill
  • Proven mechanical knowledge and experience
  • Integrity and a positive attitude 
  • Strong safety focus with a proactive approach to improving safety and risk management 
  • Motivation to learn and grow within a team environment 
  • Respectful and a team player
