The Opportunity
Veolia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver engineering and project works for our water and wastewater operations, primarily in Wellington. What you'll be responsible for
• Manage all project delivery tasks from initiation through to closure
• Investigate, design, develop, plan, schedule and coordinate technical and project management aspects of projects
• Prepare internal project and senior management approval documentation for securing project funding
• Prepare engineering service proposals, tender submissions and project documentation, including client presentations
• Work across all main engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, process, electrical)
• Manage procurement activities and oversee field delivery, monitoring progress, quality, and timelines
• Lead client, contractor and supplier liaison and communications
• Monitor budgets and track project delivery through Earned Value Analysis and Gantt chart updates
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Resolve project engineering and project management issues
• Lead multidisciplinary teams on individual projects
• Contribute to business development efforts and support Project Team development
• Manage Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems requirements
What you'll need to be successful
Qualifications/Experience:
• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Process)
• Familiarity with at least one project delivery model (PMI, Prince2 or Agile)
• Five years Project Management experience in water or wastewater project environment
• Proven design, construction and project management experience
• Ability to work across main engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, process, electrical)
• Ability to manage projects up to $2M within time and budget constraints
• Experience in capital works design and delivery (investigation, design, construction and project delivery)
• Knowledge of QA systems (ISO9001, ISO14001) and contract documentation (NZS3910:2013 & NZS3916:2013)
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites
