The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Wellington based team.. In this newly created role you will be responsible for the undertaking and delivery of the maintenance and/or housekeeping items to enable Veolia meet its contractual, legislative, obligations for the Wellington Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Service Contract.

What you'll be responsible for
-
Delivery of maintenance and/or housekeeping items in a timely manner.

Support the Operations and Projects teams
-
Supervision of contractors, when required

VAMS - Recording of all work undertaken and sign off of work schedules / ad-hoc work

Comply with the requirements of VANZ Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Policy Statements.

Adhere to all written and verbal instructions, procedures and information issued by VANZ relating to both health and safety and environmental issues and complies with all relevant procedures outlined in New Zealand Business Systems Manual and the Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) Manual.

Comply with the requirements of the company business management system and the Quality Policy for Drinking Water and Wastewater to contribute to the company commitment to provide safe, high quality drinking water and wastewater services that consistently meets or exceed the requirements of the company's contracts.

Participate in emergency maintenance tasks as part of an after hours roster.

All employees are responsible for reporting and hazards, incidents and accidents through the correct procedures.
What you'll need to be successful
Qualifications:
- Mechanical qualification.
- Trade Certificate in Engineering - mechanical based trade; or equivalent skills and experience
Experience includes:
- Experience with maintenance management systems and team development
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment operations and maintenance activities.
- Experience with the use of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and control systems (desirable).
- Ability to organise resources, establish priorities and meet deadlines through balancing commitments and priorities
- Flexibility and an ability to handle stress and pressure with strong communication, people management, teamwork and coaching skills.
- Motivation and enthusiasm, a keen eye for detail and a desire for excellent customer service
Ideally will have:
- Valid motor vehicle drivers licence (Class 1);
- Forklift License and License endorsement;
- First Aid, CPR and AED Certificate;
- Fire Extinguisher Training;
- Confined Space Entry Certificate
- Overhead Gantry Crane Certificate; and
- Rigger Certificate.
