Title:  Control Systems Engineer

The Opportunity

Veolia is looking for a Control Systems Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of PLC and SCADA systems across two QGC water treatment plants. Based at our Northern Water Treatment Facility in Wandoan, 4419 you'll provide essential programming support for troubleshooting, optimisation, and change management of critical water infrastructure.

What you'll be responsible for

• Maintain and optimise PLC and SCADA systems for reliable water treatment operations
• Programme and troubleshoot Rockwell PLC control logic and HMI screens
• Manage SCADA system historian, file backup, and cyber security protocols
• Provide operational and commissioning support to process and operations teams
• Co-ordinate technician teams for control system maintenance and instrumentation
• Develop and maintain control system documentation and functional specifications
• Conduct SAT testing and establish FAT testing capabilities
• Ensure 24/7 after-hours response capability for critical control systems
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities

What you'll need to be successful

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or related sciences, OR suitable trade qualification (Electrical/Instrumentation)
• Knowledge of water treatment processes and industrial control systems
