Title:  Networks Operator - Wanaka

We currently have a vacancy for a Networks Operator based in Wanaka, who will be responsible for operating and maintaining water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation networks. The Network Operator is to ensure service delivery demonstrates Veolia’s commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and customer service while meeting performance and key performance indicators and applying health and safety procedures.

What you'll be responsible for

• Maintenance and repair of the water and wastewater reticulation networks.
• Installation and repair of water metres
• Repair of burst water mains
• Act as a point of contact for customer requests for service and  log all reports and jobs
• Participate in the development and implementation of Capital Works improvement programs
• Provide network operations support to the Networks Supervisor and Veolia team 
• Positively contribute to the district based operations teams by fostering effective working relationships with field, engineering and management staff, client representatives, customers and suppliers.
• Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers.

What you'll need to be successful

• An effective communicator who can interact and relate at all levels of the organisation and establish and maintain working relationships
• Proven planning and organisational ability
• Able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and work under pressure
• Good literacy and numeracy skills and computer literate
• Willing to complete further training as require
• Current full driver's licence (preferably with Class 2)
• Ability and willingness to work out of hours when required and participation of on-call roster
• Basic Understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
• Plumbing, Pipe fitting and drain laying experience

• Wheels, Tracks & Rollers endorsements 
• Traffic Management

• National Certificate in Water Reticulation
