The Opportunity


Due to internal mobility, an opportunity has arisen for a State Business Development Manager to join our Environmental Services team based in Townsville, Rockhampton, Gladstone or Mackay. You will be responsible for managing business development activity across Regional Queensland, setting the strategy on chosen target markets, defining our points of difference and achieving new business growth targets by securing major contracts for Veolia.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Develop a comprehensive sales pipeline covering a range of industry verticals and sales strategies to target and develop relationships with key contacts 

  • Align to and develop our internal tender processes, including legal, commercial, and financial reviews

  • Deliver profitable revenue & volume growth, improving the market position for Veolia through securing work as a result of developing and fostering business networks and relationships

  • Network selected industry associations, build high end relationships and support community engagement across Regional Queensland

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Solid commercial acumen and experience in negotiating on terms and conditions in service contracts

  • 4-5 years experience in a major accounts or business development role required

  • Waste industry experience desired but not essential 

  • Resilience and the ability to work through and manage change

  • Strong reasoning abilities, including defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
