The Opportunity

 

We're looking for a Procurement Officer to join our Hunter Water Alliance team in Tomago 2300. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of capital works across Hunter Water's water and wastewater treatment facilities.

 

In this role, you'll manage end to end procurement activities – from tendering and evaluation through to contract award and ongoing maintenance – ensuring best value outcomes while upholding the highest standards of governance, probity and compliance.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Coordinating procurement activities including tendering, evaluations, negotiation, stakeholder approvals, contract award and execution

  • Managing the tender process to deliver best value for money outcomes

  • Maintaining the contracts and securities database, including retentions and bank guarantees

  • Providing procurement advice and support to technical and project teams, including assistance with scopes of work and specifications

  • Collaborating with the Veolia National Procurement Team to ensure alignment with global contracts and ANZ procurement strategies

  • Supporting transparent, efficient and compliant sourcing processes from purchase to payment

  • Preparing procurement and contract status reports and performance compliance documentation

  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with key internal stakeholders, Alliance partners and external suppliers

  • Identifying and managing risk and opportunity across procurement activities

  • Championing Veolia's safety culture and Always Safe Charter in everything you do

 

What You’ll Need to be Successful

 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience 

  • Proven track record in a similar role 

  • Strong planning and organisational skills
