The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, operations and commercial minded manager from a heavy industry background to oversee Veolia’s largest Industrial Services contract in NSW Northern Region.. Working closely with our client at the Tomago aluminium smelter, you will oversee all  contracted services (waste management, refractories, fabrication, industrial cleaning, material handling etc.). Your strong operational knowledge will  drive your team's results, matched by your analytical capacity and ability to base decisions on data and reporting will result in a high level of continuous improvement across all aspects of the site operations . Your excellent communication skills and visual leadership will foster strong relationships across all levels of our staff and employees and key client stakeholders.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Leading your management team across two sites and four operational disciplines 

  • Manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Driving  process improvements to meet contractual KPI’s

  • Ensuring the completion of client requests (Work orders / Purchase orders).

  • Ensure all operations comply with government regulations and environmental, health, and client standards.

  • Lead and review compliance to Veolia’s Always Safe programs 

  • Reporting and presenting Veolia’s ongoing progress of operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Manage subcontracted services in line with Veolia’s contractor management system

  • Completion of Monthly, Quarterly and annual client KPI reporting.

 

What you'll need to be successful

  • Relevant extensive experience in relevant roles in heavy industry or equivalent sectors

  • Experience at managing a contractual relationship with a key client

  • People management experience

  • Proven experience in contractual negotiations, in collaboration with legal and regional management
