As a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic at Veolia, you'll play a crucial role in our state-of-the-art workshop. Your responsibilities will include servicing and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy industrial and commercial waste vehicles, plant, and equipment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to expand your expertise while working with cutting-edge technology in the waste management sector.

Work hours: 

 

Monday to Friday  start time : 12 PM to 10:30 PM

What you'll be responsible for


 

  • Efficiently service, maintain, and repair a diverse range of plant, equipment, and fleet vehicles 

  • Execute scheduled daily work tasks as assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or Leading Hand, meeting quality standards and time constraints

  • Accurately complete and submit work orders, purchase orders, and part requisitions on a daily basis, ensuring all necessary information is captured

  •  Diligently monitor and record stock and part levels, promptly reporting any discrepancies to maintain an efficient supply chain

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of workplace safety

  •  Diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime

  • Work closely with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of projects

  • Proactively identify and suggest improvements to processes and procedures to enhance overall workshop efficiency

What you'll need to be successful


 

  • Australian-recognised Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic's trade certificate

  • Proven mechanical knowledge and experience in automotive repair

  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance

  • Valid HR Licence (preferred)

  • Forklift operation certification (desirable)

  • Ability to pass medical assessment and drug & alcohol screening

  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply to gain experience in the waste management industry
