The Opportunity

 

Veolia ANZ is looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Waste Services to lead our Roxby Downs operations. In this role, you'll take ownership of both the commercial and operational performance of a significant Council contract, while leading a site-based team and serving as Veolia's primary point of contact for key clients in the region.

 

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable managing client relationships as they are overseeing day-to-day operations on the ground. You'll also play an important part in identifying growth opportunities and strengthening Veolia's presence in the region.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Coordinating day-to-day operational activities, including customer enquiries, data processing, and administrative support

  • Organising driver daily duties in line with client (Council) requirements and the collection schedule

  • Take ownership of the commercial performance of the Kerbside Collection and Resource Recovery contracts, tracking delivery against financial targets, KPIs and contractual obligations

  • Identify risks and opportunities within the contract and bring well-considered recommendations to the Contract Manager

  • Ensure operational data and records are accurate, current and audit-ready across all relevant systems

  • Lead the preparation of monthly performance reports to Council and support contract renewal and variation processes in collaboration with the Contract Manager

What you'll need to be successful



  • Demonstrated experience in a contract management or commercial leadership role

  • A solid operational background with the ability to maintain meaningful oversight of site-based service delivery

  • Proven ability to manage and grow senior client relationships with professionalism and confidence

  • Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Google Suite,

  • Valid driver's licence

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Sound analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report on data

  • Competent computer skills

  • A genuine commitment to safety and a positive, can-do attitude
