We seek an experienced engineer in the field of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Automation (EICA) and telemetry, ideally with experience in three waters infrastructure management, to join our Projects, Technical and Assets Group (PTAG). The position is based in Veolia’s Ellerslie Corporate Head Office.


Reporting to the Technical Manager NZ, the Electrical & SCADA engineer will join a team of 4 other similar engineers. The role entails responsibility for the delivery of the EICA & SCADA aspects of Veolia’s project works nationally, and for SCADA operations across the New Zealand business. The Electrical & SCADA engineer also provides business development support to assist with the growth of the Veolia business.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Health and safety management in all aspects of works;
  • Preparation of client engineering service proposals;
  • Investigating, designing, development, planning, scheduling and delivery of both the technical and management aspects of projects;
  • Provision of Electrical & SCADA operations support to Veolia's NZ contracts. Infrastructure includes Qtech/Datran, Abbey/Aspex/Swampfox/Powerlink, Schneider Wonderware, Allen-Bradley and Schneider software & PLCs;
  • Commercial management (as required by individual contracts) of SCADA systems;
  • Remote on-call duties on a rotational roster.


This role is applicable to applicants with a Bachelor of Engineering degree with EICA / SCADA, together with at least five years’ demonstrable experience of Electrical & SCADA engineer design and / or operations, preferably in a three waters based environment.
