We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor. Reporting to the Networks Manager, the Operations Supervisor is to ensure service delivery demonstrates Veolia Water’s commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and customer service while meeting performance and service Key Performance Indicators and applying Quality and Health and Safety procedures.You must continually drive for improvement by promoting new initiatives, challenging the status quo and aiming for improved efficiencies and operational outcomes.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Monitor and Supervise the operations and maintenance of the water, wastewater and stormwater networks throughout the Queenstown area and Veolia Water's procedures. 
  • Supervise the Queenstown operations team.
  • Complete the associated administration work in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Positively contribute to the Queenstown and district based operations teams and provide general operation and maintenance assistance as appropriate.
  • Participate in the Queenstown on call roster 
  • Contribute to the management of the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems while applying the procedures in all aspects of work.

  • Comply with the requirements of Veolia Water New Zealand Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Policy Statements, including participation at local toolbox and health and safety meetings.
  • Adhere to all written and verbal instructions, procedures and information issued by Veolia Water New Zealand relating to both health and safety and environmental issues and with all relevant clauses of the Integrated Business Management System Manual.
  • Comply with the requirements of the company business management system and the Quality Policy for drinking water, wastewater treatment and disposal to contribute to the company commitment to provide safe, high quality drinking water and wastewater services that consistently meets or exceeds the requirements of the Contracts.
  • Report any problems with the business management system, particularly in relation to the management of occupational health and safety, environment and drinking water.
  • Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers.

What you'll need to be successful

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years in a supervisory or team leader role in the same or similar service industry.
  • Level 4 National Certificate Reticulation – or a willingness to work towards gaining this qualification


Experience:

  • Experience in water, wastewater and stormwater network operation and coordinating maintenance is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in service delivery and / or trade is considered advantageous.

Other relevant skills or information:

  • Computer literate.
  • Current driver's licence (preferably with Class 2).
  • Ability and willingness to work out of hours when required & if required to take part in an after hours on-call roster.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Health and Safety legislation.
