The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Operations Coordinator who will be responsible for the organising, planning and scheduling of reactive maintenance, operational activities, and work plan scheduling to ensure optimal performance of 3W systems within the scope of the contract and to ensure the achievement of environmental, community and financial outcomes by providing effective management and leadership of Queenstown and Wanaka 3W operational delivery teams.

What you'll be responsible for

Include but not limited to:

  • Ensure the required monitoring, control and reporting of reactive maintenance crews is undertaken in compliance with the contract in conjunction with the team leaders.
  • Complete the associated programming, scheduling and administrative work in an accurate and timely manner.
  • On-going review of operational performance anticipating and identifying compliance risks before they occur and taking action to address these risks, including escalation of the risk or potential risk outcomes. 
  • VAMS oversight - ensure recording of adequate and correct information, labour hours, costs, signed off and closing of work orders. 
  • Assist the Operations Manager/ Networks Supervisor to prepare justifications of extraordinary works. 
  • Encourage a proactive commitment to health and safety within the contract and in partnership with our sub contractors to work effectively for the achievement of workplace zero harm, managing the Veolia Health and Safety reporting system (RIVO); 
  • Participate in the on-call roster; 
  • Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client; 

What you'll need to be successful

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Level 4 Pipeline construction and maintenance or equivalent, 
  • Previous experience with Reactive 3W Network maintenance positions, 
  • Previous experience with scheduling, programming and organising multiple works crews across large geographical areas, 
  • Minimum of 5 years people management experience,
  • Competency with standard computers, tablets, mobile devices and their associated programmes (Google suites and/or Microsoft office) 
  • A minimum of 5 years 3 Waters Network operations experience or related fields and a knowledge of 3 Waters operations and maintenance activities. 
  • Experience with the use of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and control systems (desirable). 
  • Understanding of the criticality of operational contract KPI’s, 
  • Ability to organise resources, establish priorities and meet deadlines through balancing commitments and priorities. 
  • Flexibility and an ability to handle stress and pressure with strong communication, people management, teamwork and coaching skills. 
  • Motivation and enthusiasm, a keen eye for detail and a desire for excellent customer service. 
  • A commercial focus and the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients, subcontractors and customers. 
  • Proven experience in achieving team objectives. 
  • Well developed reporting and communication skills.
