The Opportunity

The Senior Capital Works Operator is responsible for undertaking Capital Works projects to enable Veolia to meet its contractual and legislative obligations for the approved capital works programme.

What you'll be responsible for

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise the delegated capital works team on site to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of all project deliverables 
  • Execute all aspects of capital works projects from establishment through to completion
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures to maintain a zero-harm work environment, ensuring full compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and company policies
  • Monitor project progress against established milestones and key performance indicators, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays or obstacles to ensure on-time project delivery
  • Coordinate with Team Lead, contractors, and internal departments to facilitate seamless project execution and maintain clear communication channels throughout all phases of capital works projects
  • Maintain accurate on site project documentation, including safety records, and compliance documentation, ensuring full traceability and accountability for all capital works activities

What you'll need to be successful

Qualifications:

  • Combination of education, training and experience.

 

Experience:

  • Relevant hands-on trade specific experience.
  • Exposure to the water and/or waste water industry and basic understanding of various
  • water treatment technologies and processes are preferable.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues and
  • contractors.
  • Ability to fault find on damaged 3 waters infrastructure.
  • Proven problem solving skills and proposed methodologies.

 

Other relevant skills or information:

  • Knowledge of water and wastewater operations, maintenance and project activities.
  • Understanding of the criticality of 3 waters operational requirements.
  • Understanding of the commercial nature of the operations of Veolia.
  • Ability to organise resources, establish priorities and meet deadlines through balancing
  • commitments and priorities.
  • Literacy, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain
  • strong working relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm, a keen eye for detail and a desire for excellent customer
  • service.
