The Opportunity
Veolia Australia and New Zealand (VANZ) is seeking a strategic Strategic Projects - Business Development Manager to drive our growth and expansion. Reporting to the General Manager Business Development, you will play a crucial role in identifying, shaping, and securing business opportunities across our portfolio of services, with a focus on resource recovery.

What you'll be responsible for
- Lead strategic development projects that may involve strategy formulation, market studies, policy engagement, government or industry consultation, grant applications and community engagement
- Lead government and industry led tenders, shape the strategy for business cases to build greenfield projects and enter new markets, lead new business partnerships
- Cultivate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders that give rise to winning tender opportunities relating to future waste, water or energy infrastructure development
- Identify and develop opportunities for Veolia to copy and adapt global reference projects in the ANZ market
- Provide high-quality analysis to support corporate strategy, including market assessments, competitor analysis, and strategic opportunities.
- Manage new business development processes from business case development to regulatory approvals and opportunity pipeline maintenance.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, potential partners, and industry associations
- Support annual development budgets, monitor performance, and continuously improve business development processes
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties such as government agencies and regulatory authorities
What you'll need to be successful
- A demonstrated background in waste / resource recovery (preferred), water or energy sectors
- A quality track record of delivering growth projects
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, management or related discipline
- Strong project management, analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Current driver’s licence
