Are you a strategic technical leader ready to transform water operations? Veolia Water has an exciting opportunity for an Operational Improvement Manager to lead our operational excellence agenda across Veolia Australia and New Zealand Water business.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to blend technical expertise with strategic leadership. You'll work flexibly across operational improvements, tender support, and technical advisory functions—identifying and driving improvements that set the benchmark for operational excellence while supporting business growth.

• Lead operational improvements, tenders, and technical advisory across multiple sites

• Direct a dedicated team driving digital, R&D, safety, and process engineering advances

What You’ll be Responsible for

• Line Management of the Operational Improvement team, providing leadership to a team which specialises in digital & data, electrical safety, R&D and process engineering

• Identifying, evaluate then copy and adapt best practices and innovations

• Developing and managing tools and processes to ingest, assess, and prioritize the delivery of operational improvements

• Provide expert technical advice and troubleshooting support to operations teams across multiple sites

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and research emerging technologies and methodologies

• Supporting high-value tender responses

• Leading periodic reviews of commercial and technical performance of existing contracts, collaborating with stakeholders to develop improvement strategies

• Mentor and develop technical capability within operations teams

• Represent Veolia at industry forums and build strategic relationships with technology partners

• Location: Flexible with some interstate and international travel

What You’ll Need to be Successful

• Demonstrated experience in operational leadership, technical advisory, or engineering management roles

• Strong background in water/wastewater operations, engineering, or related industries

• Proficiency in technical analysis, modeling, and risk assessment
