The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is looking for a highly skilled Project Engineer to join the Team at Rocklea. As the Project Engineer you would be reporting into the State Manager and work in the office on site and have a no compromise attitude to safety & environment living by our always safe principles. 

The main purpose of this role is to manage allocated projects to achieve safety, time, cost and quality objectives and to enable and facilitate the growth of the business by achieving and exceeding customer requirements.

As the Project Engineer you would be involved in the full life cycle of the projects. You would be required to access, select, develop,  execute and close to make sure all contractual requirements are completed. This role would also be client facing so we are looking for a Project Engineer who is confident liaising with senior internal and external stakeholders, has a great eye for detail and is a problem solver.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Tertiary qualification and degree in Civil, Mechanical or Process  Engineering
  • At least 6 years’ experience in project delivery gained within the water industry, in particular within water or sewer networks
  • Experience in the project management of maintenance activities on water and sewer networks
  • Demonstrated experience in customer management, negotiation and issues resolution
  • Experience with Asset Management and Mapping systems such as Infonet and ESRI/GIS
  • Direct knowledge of the Australian water industry framework and statutory requirements
  • Experience of project delivery with emphasis on cost control, sub-contractor management, quality assurance and data management
  • Experience working on contracts > $5M
  • Experience working with Australian Standard Contracts
  • Expert experience in maintenance job data analysis and presentation
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude to tasks and colleagues 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer focused, confident phone manner
  • Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills
  • Systematic, well-organised and reliable
  • Confident and calm under pressure
