The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is currently looking for a highly skilled Process Engineer to join the operations team at the Northern Water Treatment plant in Queensland. As the Process Engineer you would be based at the site office working closely with the operations team, providing close hands on support.

This is one of Veolia’s remote sites and therefore this would be a Fly in, Fly out role and would require someone to work 10 days on and 4 days off. We are looking for someone who can fly out of Brisbane and is happy to  work in a remote location for the duration of their working days.  

The Main purpose of this role is to provide technical and process support to the site operations team and  to ensure effective and optimal operation of the plants and assets. Managing key process risks. This role may also include the management and implementation of specific process projects required at the site

Even though this role is an autonomous role you will report to the Plant Manager, be supported by the Veolia Industrial Field Technical Manager, and work closely with the operations team. You’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

In addition to process engineering you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

In this role, you will develop and build skills that will be you a key asset to the site Many of our Engineers have continued to progress their career with us, moving into management and leadership roles. 
 

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science 
  • 3-5 years Water treatment or Industrial Wastewater treatment experience. 
  • Practical hands-on experience in relation to process engineering, specifically with respect to water or industrial wastewater treatment 
  • Drivers licence. 
  • Advanced skills in MS office and Google suite programs 
  • Experience and exposure to Quality, Environmental and OH&S Management Systems (desirable) 
  • Ability to work in a Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) role. 
  • Works well independently as well as part of a close knit team. 
  • Able to work to tight timeframes whilst multitasking various priorities. 
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written. Able to write detailed scientific and engineering reports. 
  •  The ability to work in a positive and proactive team environment. 
  • Problem solving ability
