Title: Health & Safety Advisor

The Opportunity
In this role you will work closely with, and provide H&S administration assistance and support to the Energy, Refractories and Industrial Services divisions. You will also be tasked with coordinating H&S support activities, including, but not limited to, managing our H&S databases and supporting systems frameworks, and training and mentoring on the same. You will work closely with an experienced established team and be part of a broader national H&S Team.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at our Port Kemba site.

What you'll be responsible for
-
Engage and coach operational leaders and workforce in physical and psychosocial risk reduction and develop their capacity to work safely

Provide thought leadership and evidence-based advice to operations
-
Champion safety at, and attend H&S meetings, pre-start meetings and other meetings that may have relevant health and safety subject matter

Facilitate and participate in internal audits and risk assessments

Provide data driven safety performance reports and insights
-
Facilitate the development and delivery of safety training and communication material in support of objectives

Anticipate future scenarios and update our understanding of the related risks
What you'll need to be successful
-
Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or Risk Management, or relevant qualifications in disciplines such as Health, Social Science, Engineering, Law, or Human Resources

Experience in a similar Health & Safety Advisory role within a mining or heavy industry

Proven experience in facilitating ICAM Incident Investigations

Auditing Training or Business improvement qualifications (Six Sigma, Kaizen)

Previously developed and facilitated workshops as well as coaching leaders and workforce
