The Opportunity

We currently have a vacancy for a Wastewater Treatment Operator based in Pauanui  to carry out operational and routine maintenance tasks, and mechanical repairs within the Thames/Coromandel contract.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Maintenance and repair of pipes, pumps,  leaks, machines, blockages and pump stations
  • Preventative maintenance including refits and rebuilding of assets
  • Laboratory testing and data entry
  • Performance monitoring and improvements of treatment process
  • Monitoring, recording and altering Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system
  • Act as a point of contact for customer requests for service.  Appropriately respond to these in a timely manner, assessing and coordinating remedial action if required
  • Coordinate and provide contractual reporting to the Client
  • Accurately log all reports and jobs, completing the necessary paperwork and filing where required
     

What you'll need to be successful

  • Class 1 Driver Licence essential although Class 2 Licence will be an advantage 
  • Tertiary education in Science; Engineering (Mechanical) or computing an advantage
  • A strong process or mechanical background
  • A can-do attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure 
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to participate in an on-call roster
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
