The Opportunity

During your traineeship, you’ll be employed by us, while completing on-the-job training with Host Employer, Origin Energy. We’ll provide you with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your true potential.

What you’ll be responsible for


  • Assist in the regeneration of land and environment at Origin Power Station
  • Carry out land management duties including the identification of plant species and collection and extraction of seeds
  • Assist with lawn and grass maintenance
  • Carry out weed control
  • Use power tools and equipment to carry out duties
  • Work across 11,000 hectares of bushland and within the greenhouse and maintenance workshop
  • Assist in general duties that are within the skills, competence and ability of a trainee

What you’ll need to be successful


  • Commitment to both on and off the job training
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Confidence using power tools to carry out duties
  • Strong communication skills with a diverse community
  • Ability to adapt to new environments
  • Current drivers licence (P1 or above)
