The Opportunity

Veolia is now seeking an experienced Power Plant Mechanic to join our team based in Tarago. Reporting to the Power Station Operations Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out the operation and maintenance of all the equipment of the Woodlawn Bio Energy  to ensure the completion of work safely and efficiently, in accordance with all safety and environmental standards, regulatory requirements, customer expectations and performance targets.

You’ll need:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualifications – Certificate III 
  • A Valid Driver's license 
  • Certificate IV in WHS and Forklift Licence are preferable
  • Demonstrated experience in operating and maintaining power generation equipment such as gas engines, generators, pumps and gas blowers 
  • Demonstrated experience in operating and maintaining heavy machineries
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Effective communication skills (Written & Verbal)
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

In addition to operating the plant, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.
