Due to an expansion in the business, an opportunity for a Technician has become available based in Woodlawn. The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the Woodlawn Leachate Treatment Plant. Originating from a Electrical or Mechanical trade background, the successful applicant will have proven problem solving ability, experience integrating with multiple stakeholders (inclusive of clientele), must be well presented, able to work in a small team and also be comfortable to work unsupervised. 

Key Responsibilities:

As a part of your role you will be require to:

  • Collect and and analyze water samples
  • Operate Leachate Treatment Plant including maintenance activities and following up any operational issues 
  • Respond and rectify and alarms generated by SCADA 
  • Perform all necessary work activities to ensure a current functional CMMS system
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Be available on an on call roster 
  • Able to work after hours and weekends when required
  • Comply with all OH&S and Environmental procedures and requirements, including the issuing of permits to work

 

About You: You'll need:

In addition to the qualities and skills previously noted, ideally we are looking for someone that will bring the following to the role:

  • Ensure the continual promotion of Veolia’s ‘Always Safe’ safety culture
  • Trade Licence - preferably Electrical
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment plants is desirable
  • Experience in the maintenance of valves, pumps, pipe lines and other electrical/mechanical equipment 
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment engineering practices 
  • Experience working with instrumentation, electrical, PCL control and SCADA systems  
  • Computer literacy, ideally with exposure to Office or Google applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
