The Opportunity

 

 

Our operation in Shoalhaven is looking for a fully qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our small but very successful team.   You will be working on a range of vehicles and plant machinery and based at our facility in Nowra.

What you’ll be responsible for

 

  • Perform repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.

  • Perform detailed inspections of heavy vehicles and equipment and correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventive maintenance on company own equipment.

  • Perform fabrication and repair component parts.

  • Identify and repair or report worn or failed components, etc.

  • Complete service forms, brake forms and other paperwork accurately and legibly in accordance with company guidelines

  • Experience in the field of air systems. (Preferred but not essential).



 

What you’ll need to be successful

 

 

  • Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical

  • A sound working knowledge of heavy and mechanical repairs.

  • To be able to decipher workshop manuals and technical bulletins to carry out duties as a qualified motor mechanic.

  • To be able to carry out duties whilst unsupervised.

  • An understanding of the waste industry, in particular the operating requirements and limitations of side loading and rear loading RORO and front- loading equipment. (Preferred but not essential).

  • A strong customer service attitude with a willingness to perform all functions in a manner to achieve this end
