The Opportunity

Newly created opportunity for a Head of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Sales to join Veolia's Energy Retailing business.  In this role you will  build, develop and lead the C&I sales function of Veolia's Energy Retailing business including establishing, implementing and accountability for the sales strategy and all sales channels to meet our strategic and commercial objectives.

What you will be responsible for

  • Develop and drive the C&I sales strategy, campaigns, and order book to achieve growth targets and attract key customers aligned with Veolia's energy strategy.
  • Capture, analyse, and leverage sales data insights to guide strategic decisions, identify opportunities, and understand customer energy needs to offer tailored solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential C&I customers, negotiating commercially viable energy agreements within risk policies.
  • Promote Veolia's Energy Retailing brand and solutions, reviewing and enhancing sales systems/platforms to drive efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize wholesale positions, maximize energy solutions synergies, and cultivate industry networks.
  • Spearhead Veolia's ambition in the energy transition, identifying innovations to unlock strategic low-carbon initiatives while supporting business development efforts.

​​​​​​​What you will need to be successful

The successful candidate will possess:

  •  5-10+ years experience in sales leadership role with C&I customers in the National Electricity Market (NEM)
  • Proven track record in creating and executing targeted sales strategies for C&I customers, including direct and indirect sales channels
  • In-depth knowledge of wholesale electricity markets, futures, green certificates, and their impact on C&I strategy, pricing, and contracts
  • Expertise in complex C&I energy products like spot following, PPAs, sleeving, and behind-the-meter solutions like solar, battery storage, demand response
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
