The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Capital Works Project Manager to join the impressive Springvale Mt Piper Power Station Water Treatment Plant.

Working in a close-knit, motivated team, with 3-8 direct reports, you’ll ensure that project-related requirements are met and executed in line with the timeframes and budgets. You will coordinate and be the point of contact for both employees and contractors.

In your day-to-day activities, you’ll comply with, and promote, Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and Site Safe Operating Procedures. And in the long run, you’ll contribute to a sustainable future for Australia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the safety culture of the Design and Construct team
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate the Design and Construct project supervisors and contractors to plan and deliver projects-related works
  • Liaise with the Technical and Performance design team to develop project scope and risk assessments
  • Supervise works to ensure completion is within the guidelines of the integrated business management system, covering WHS, Environment and Quality
  • Assist, negotiate and liaise with relevant parts of the organisation to establish service contracts with suppliers and service providers
  • Ensure safe working practices are implemented

You’ll need:

  • 5 years’ experience in similar roles in project or site management
  • Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience  in industrial operations as well as maintenance management/coordination
  • Integrity and a positive attitude
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including ability to clarify, time manage, resolve issues and make decisions
  • Ability to establish and maintain ongoing effective relationships
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Strong safety focus with a proactive approach to improving safety and risk management
  • Drivers Licence

In this role, you’ll discover:

  • Great people... and a company that cares
From your teammates, to colleagues and partners across Veolia, you’ll find people who care about doing a good job. And you’ll belong in a company that truly cares - about the customer, the community, the environment... and you.

  • ‘Team’ works here - it’s who we are
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

  • Stimulation and challenge, delivered
While ‘Operations’ is about process and rhythm, you’ll find plenty of variety in your role. In addition to managing the project, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

  • Opportunity and growth, there for the taking
In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our managers have continued to progress their career with us.
