The Opportunity


Veolia ANZ is seeking a Procurement Category Manager - Fleet to join our team based in Pyrmont. In this role, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to plan, develop, source and manage fleet procurement arrangements that deliver value for money and drive business outcomes. 

 

This is an ideal opportunity for professionals with automotive fleet experience—whether from OEM sales, dealer networks, or fleet operations—who are ready to transition to the procurement side and leverage their industry knowledge to shape strategic supplier relationships and category management initiatives.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement category management plans and strategies for fleet to deliver value for money and meet stakeholder needs

  • Consistently facilitate robust category and contract management across Veolia's preferred fleet supplier agreements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align fleet category strategies and identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancements

  • Leverage relationships with internal fleet operators and equipment management groups, leasing companies, rental providers and OEM partners to optimize procurement outcomes

  • Ensure governance compliance and provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders to build procurement expertise across the organisation

  • Track market and product shifts, develop pricing frameworks and identify cost reduction opportunities

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • 3+ years experience in fleet sales, automotive OEM operations, dealer network management, or procurement/supply chain management within the automotive/fleet sector

  • Sound understanding of fleet operations, supplier relationships, and the automotive industry landscape

  • High level of project management experience, with the ability to run and support multiple projects concurrently

  • Experience in driving and implementing process improvements within decentralised and complex businesses

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong sense of urgency and confidence in instigating and promoting change

  • Highly driven with a focus on outcomes and results
