Veolia New Zealand operates and maintains the water and wastewater pipeline infrastructure in the Central Hawkes Bay District. We are looking for someone to lead the NetworksTeams including the asset renewals and upgrades team in providing a high quality reticulation and associated infrastructure service delivery for the people of Central Hawkes Bay.

The Opportunity

Within this role you will lead a team of operational professionals in providing the operations, maintenance and management of the reticulation networks and associated infrastructure in accordance with all operating procedures and compliance criteria, with a focus on Veolia’s safety, quality and efficiency outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Veolia and Central Hawkes Bay District Council management. 
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to the Wastewater Treatment team including priority setting
  • Contribute to achievement of all wastewater treatment performance targets.
  • Advise and assist with operations and maintenance of Wastewater treatment processes systems.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of wastewater quality and environmental improvement programs
  • Participate in a supervisory level on-call roster.

What you'll need to be successful

  • You will require a NZQA or equivalent professional or trade qualification in Water and or Wastewater network construction or operations and maintenance
  • 5 years experience in a similar role, and an excellent knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure, systems, processes and standards.
  • You will need to have demonstrated leadership skill and experience and the ability to develop and manage key relationships with your team and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment operations, maintenance activities and criticality of operations requirements.
  • Understanding of resource consents and their criticality
  • Strong understanding of SCADA systems.
  • A current valid driver’s licence.
