The Opportunity


We are seeking an Operator that ideally lives in Darwin but relocation could also be an option for the right candidate to join a close-knit team based in Darwin. As an Operator, you will be mainly operating earthmoving plants and equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to think one step ahead and operate equipment in accordance with design profiles.  

We are looking for the next operator to be willing to support their colleagues and is eager to learn and take on new challenges. This is a role for someone who has the ability to liaise with customers and stakeholders, is able to work to timelines, and is committed to going above and beyond. We are safety-oriented, therefore the suitable candidate will have a professional safety mindset at all times. 

You’ll need:

 

  • Dozer
  • Excavator
  • Articulated Dump Truck
  • Front End Loader
  •  LF licence
  •  Landfill Compactor
  • Experience within the industrial/ waste services industry is desirable but not essential 
  • Strong work ethic able to work within a team as well as individually 
  • Strong safety focus with a proactive approach to improving safety and risk management 
  • Motivation to learn and grow within a team environment  
  • Attention to details
  • Great communication skills 
  • Well presented at al times

Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

While ‘Operations’ is about process and rhythm, you’ll find plenty of variety in your role. In addition to operating the plant, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our team leads have continued to progress their career with us, moving into management positions.
