The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is currently looking for an experienced and skilled Operations Manager to join the team in Jabiru, Northern Territory.

This is a full time, permanent role which would suit someone who is local to the area or someone that is willing to relocate. You should bring positive leadership to the sites and can demonstrate previous experience in a similar role. 

As the Operations Manager you would be responsible for the overall operations, maintenance and control of the ERA brine concentrator, power plant and water treatment plant in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner, ensuring that the requirements of the contract with our client are met and that the operations are managed within the budget and financial objectives of the team.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the operations and maintenance team.
  • Proactively and constructively contribute towards the leadership of the Industrial Water group.
  • Manage the development of front line leaders within the team 
  • Ensure that team members understand their responsibilities and accountabilities, and have clearly specified goals and deliverables.
  • Monitor, manage and evaluate team performance and provide and receive constructive feedback on goal achievement.
  • Proactively manage operations in accordance with government and other statutory regulations, contract requirements  and Veolia policies and procedures.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for optimisation in operations and maintenance to demonstrate delivery of value to clients and customers.
  • Contribute to, and implement the outcomes of, growth planning. This includes expansion of scope and extension of time.

 

You’ll need:

  • More than 6 years’ relevant industry experience, including three years’ in a management role or leadership role with full accountabilities with direct reports
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Management or Economics highly desirable, or a proven track record within the industry and Brine Concentrator experience. 
  • Open Class C drivers licence
  • Able to distil and convey complex information in a concise and engaging manner. 
  • Strong customer service skills and work ethic.
  • Willingness to travel (intra and interstate).
  • Experience leading a diverse and multi-skilled workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying Quality, Environmental and OH&S Management systems.
