The Opportunity
Are you a safety-focused leader with waste management expertise? Veolia is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee waste management and industrial services operations at our BHP Olympic Dam site. This is a key leadership role where you'll supervise day-to-day operations, lead a team, and ensure excellence in safety, compliance, and customer service.

What you'll be responsible for
- Supervise and lead operational teams (up to 15 direct reports)
- Schedule and prioritise daily services to meet operational demands and licence requirements
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure optimal staffing levels
- Build strong client relationships and work collaboratively toward shared goals
- Manage waste streams and provide expert advice on challenging or hazardous materials
- Conduct daily debriefs, team meetings, and toolbox sessions
- Input incidents, hazards, and safety matters into Veolia systems (RIVO, EMS, FLEX)
- Develop and review safety documents (THAs, JSEAs, Risk Assessments, Work Instructions)
- Ensure all staff comply with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, and relevant legislation
- Manage rosters, timesheets, and labor allocation
What you'll need to be successful
- HR Licence & Forklift Licence
- Minimum 5 years in a leading hand or supervisory role
- Proficient in Microsoft/Google Suite
- Experience with dangerous goods and EPA transport requirements
- Proven experience in waste management with solid sustainability knowledge
- Vacuum truck and high-pressure water jetting experience (highly desirable)
- Certificate in leadership & management (desirable)
- Strong commitment to safety and positive attitude
