The Opportunity

Join our Remediation Services team as a Project Site Engineer in this exciting dual office and site-based role. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and coordination of diverse remediation projects involving soil, water, waste, and civil works.

This dynamic position offers the perfect blend of technical project coordination and hands-on site supervision. You'll ensure all project delivery and site operations comply with health and safety standards, environmental regulations, legislative requirements, and Veolia's corporate policies.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Coordinate day-to-day delivery of remediation projects involving soil, water, waste, and civil works, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, environmental regulations, and legislative requirements

  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and suppliers, developing and maintaining strong working relationships and effective stakeholder communication

  • Manage waste logistics coordination with contractors and internal Veolia resources, including EPA transport certificates, permits, and regulatory compliance

  • Implement and manage Veolia's Business Management Systems and project-specific management plans, participating in internal and external audits

  • Advise on national EPA, WorkSafe, and regulatory requirements for waste transport and disposal across the Remediation group

  • Participate in Emergency and Incident Management processes, taking a lead role in incident management as required

  • Optimise operational resources and costs, identifying cost savings while maintaining operational objectives and overseeing purchasing approvals

  • Establish and maintain supplier registers, negotiate contracts and rates, and manage financial administrative requirements in accordance with Veolia's policies and procedures

What you'll need to be successful

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience delivering in-field remediation projects with practical knowledge of Quality, Environmental, and OH&S Management systems

  • High-level communication and organisational skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Contractor management experience in field-based or industrial environments, ideally with contract management in customer-facing roles

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and ability to assess situations, determine urgency and risks, and make clear decisions

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, team members, suppliers, and regulatory bodies

  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills with an open-minded, resilient, and adaptable approach

  • Learning orientation - receptive to feedback, committed to self-development, and able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances

  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel and work away from home
