The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is seeking an experienced Multi-Vehicle Driver who has a HC license. This role is based in Mount Gambier and would be reporting into the Operations Team leader. 

This is a full time, permanent position and would be suitable for someone who is happy with early starts as a shift usually begins 5 or 6am. We would require a driver who can be flexible and can work weekday, weekends,public holidays and possible shift work coverage.

The main responsibility will be emptying bins using hook lift, rear lift, front lift and side lift trucks. The other part of the role will be transporting liquid from the site to the local water treatment site using a liquid tanker.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

In addition to driving you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our Drivers have continued to progress their career with us, moving into supervisor, manager and site manager roles. 

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • HR License 
  • Minimum 2 years experience driving a HR vehicle. 
  • Previously worked within the waste industry (or similar) 
  • Good verbal communication skills 
  • Experience working autonomously 
  • Adaptable and hands on 
  • Safety first mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
