Title:  Contracts Manager - Collections

The Opportunity


We are looking for a manager with a strong operations background and experience in waste management, transport and logistics to own and manage fulfilment of two of our most important local government contracts. Working from our Mascot facility, you will manage around 80 staff through two operations supervisors to ensure all KPIs are consistently met for two of our key municipal clients. Working through your team, you will manage the safe collection and transport of associated solid and liquid waste in accordance with the contractual agreement, safety parameters and budgeted financial targets. This is a perfect role for someone who loves to drive efficiency, manage operational teams and stakeholders and achieve client satisfaction.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Manage the organisation of resourcing allocation to ensure that achievement of the objectives and KPIs are met
  • Ensure safety compliance requirements are adhered to in relation to NHVR standards in conjunction with the SHEQ team inclusive of fleet repairs and maintenance
  • Monitor and measure team performance and communicate with the team on goal achievement
  • Maintain an effective relationship with managers, reporting supervisors, operational and administration staff ensuring that employee engagement is a focus.
     

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business (Management or Logistics) and/or multiple years equivalent workplace experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in people management in order to maintain an engaged workforce
  • Demonstrated experience in finding and driving organisational efficiencies
  • Demonstrated success in managing safety and environmental matters within regulatory and legislative requirements including the ability to lead in a strong safety focused environment.
