What you'll be responsible for

• Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to management and staff on all health, safety, and compliance matters, ensuring a deep understanding and adherence to Veolia's rigorous safety protocols.
• Champion Veolia's "safety first" culture by identifying innovative solutions to common risks and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
• Coach and influence staff at all levels to understand and execute their responsibilities in line with the company's stringent safety expectations, fostering a culture of accountability and best practices.
• Support the successful implementation of safety initiatives, coordinating reviews, and facilitating changes to Safe Work Procedures, Risk Assessments, and Safety Management Plans as required.
• Ensure performance objectives and outcomes related to health and safety are achieved within agreed timeframes, demonstrating a commitment to operational excellence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration and open communication to address safety concerns proactively.
• Arrange and conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring the plant operates within the highest standards.

What you'll need to be successful

To be considered for this role, you must have a proven track record in health and safety management, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of relevant regulations and best practices. A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field is highly desirable.
