Title: Resource Recovery Supervisor

The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Resource Recovery Site Supervisor. Reporting to the Resource Recovery Manager Landsdale & Welshpool, the purpose of this position is to undertake hands-on supervision of all staff to ensure the safe, compliant, customer centric and efficient undertaking of operational activities at the Landsdale RRP, including but not limited to:
● Waste Transfer Station Operation
● Waste Sorting and Recovery of Recyclables
● Collection of Office Paper & Confidential Paper
● Shredding of Confidential Paper
● Baling of paper & cardboard
The position requires an in-depth understanding and experience of frontline waste management and best practice requirements. As such the post holder will strive for the Landsdale Resource Recovery Park to be the reference facility for waste transfer and resource recovery activities within VANZ in regards to all aspects of site operations and management.

What you'll be responsible for

Supervise Resource Recovery team to ensure efficient utilisation of all staff and compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, procedures and site requirements.

Implement recommendations and/or instructions of the Operations Manager/RR Management Team.

Develop and maintain good work behaviours and knowledge necessary for safe and efficient operational standards.

Undertake risk assessment and hazard identification to support operational initiatives.

Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve site processes, procedures and efficiencies with both equipment and staff.

Monitoring and reporting on the condition and status of plant and equipment and ensure repairs and maintenance work are undertaken in accordance with VES guidelines (eg. prestart info, break downs, fuel usage, service scheduling, machine hours etc).
What you'll need to be successful
- Certificate III in Frontline Management or equivalent workplace experience

Qualified Trainer / Assessor

Demonstrated understanding of relevant environmental legislation and familiarisation with EPA WA requirements

Proven leadership skills – with experience supervising operational staff in a waste management environment

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) - able to distil and convey complex information in a concise and engaging manner

Strong customer service skills and ethics

Relevant machine tickets and High Risk Work licences

Proven commitment to health and safety

Ability to multi task in a complex fast paced operational environment

Sound computer knowledge
