The Opportunity

Join our high performing Health and Safety function in the position of Health and Safety Advisor. In this autonomous and varied role you will provide health and safety compliance advice to operational management and will support personnel to achieve safety excellence and maximise company safety performance through auditing, engagement, training, investigation and continuous improvement. In the long run, you’ll contribute to a sustainable future for Australia.

 

The position is based in the Adelaide metropolitan area and includes travel to remote locations. Therefore the willingness to travel and a current drivers licence is required.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Building strong and engaging working relationships at all levels

  • Leading incident investigations and reporting

  • Conducting inspections and internal audits

  • Supporting operational teams to develop and maintain health and safety management plans and related documentation

  • Implementing injury prevention strategies and wellbeing programs in collaboration with the Injury Prevention and Health team

  • Being proactive, promoting H&S and continuously helping to  improve the business

  • Being visible across the workplace, building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders by spending time in the field 

  • Contributing to state based projects and initiatives to improve the overall safety performance of the business.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Formal qualification in WHS Cert 4 or greater and demonstrable industry experience 

  • ICAM or TapRoot investigation experience required

  • Effective influencing skills with the ability to engage at all levels of an organisation

  • Working knowledge and understanding of relevant WHS legislation including Chain of Responsibility

  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence
