The Opportunity

As State General Manager of Veolia’s Environmental Services business unit, you will be responsible for the $350m+ revenue P&L and end-to-end strategic, commercial, and operational performance across a portfolio of waste collections and medical, liquid and hazardous treatment activities. You will drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and stakeholder confidence while fostering a safe, compliant, and high-performing culture across all functions.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute the state business plan

  • Operations & Service Delivery: Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service

  • Commercial & Financial Performance: Achieve revenue, EBITDA and other targets

  • Sales & Business Development: Lead the state sales strategy

  • Customer & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strategic partnerships

  • Safety, Risk & Compliance: Manage and maintain an “always safe” culture.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Science or relevant discipline, or equivalent workplace experience

  • Demonstrated track record within business unit management

  • Experience in managing operations / facilities in the logistics, engineering, or technical sectors  

  • A high level of commercial acumen and the ability to analyse and interpret financial information

  • Demonstrated success in driving and implementing business strategy and operational efficiencies 

  • Extensive experience and demonstrated success in people management

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change.
