The Opportunity


As the Vehicle Logistics Officer, you’ll play a critical role as the first point of contact for our Vacuum truck and packaged waste fleet across our Western Australia Metropolitan Liquid and Hazardous Waste business. Located in Welshpool 6106 you will be required to ensure all drivers perform their duties in a safe manner without risk to health, safety, quality, and environment, this will include fatigue management.  

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will assist in scheduling, routing, and generation of driver runs and will liaise with customers and drivers to provide assistance where required. The purpose of this role is to not only schedule routes for drivers, but strategically plan to increase productivity and exceed client expectations. 
 

You will be responsible for

 

  • Coordinating job bookings to maximise run efficiency A background in logistics and Waste (advantageous)
  • Ensure work is done within timeframe
  • Proactively reviewing route performance to identify route optimisation and improvement opportunities
  • Problem-solving by responding to customer issues that are of immediate operational concern with a solutions focus
  • Responding to any run confirmation and route checking queries raised by the Customer Services Team/Admin Team and/or customer
  • Championing health and safety for all team members 

You’ll need:

 

  • A background in logistics and Waste (advantageous)
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong people skills, including a strong ability to communicate and negotiate
  • A commitment to customer service
  • Work well under pressure
  • Strong time management skills
  • A strong focus on health and safety
  • Ability to commit to on-call one week on a rotating basis
  • Cert IV in Logistics or  Cert III in Waste Management (desired)
