The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is currently looking for an experienced Liquid Tanker Driver to be part of the liquid fleet team in Kilburn, South Australia. This role will be reporting into the Liquids Supervisor and is an exciting opportunity for someone who has previously operated a HR vehicle and has worked within waste management. This is a physically demanding role and as a Liquid Driver you will be required to not just drive the truck but also collect, load and unload waste.

The main purpose of this role will be to collect and transport liquid waste and sludges from a customer’s premises and deliver to an authorised licensed waste disposal depot. This position involves early starts, with the usual start time being 4.30am. The role will be Monday - Friday with occasional weekend work.

You’ll need:

  • HR License
  • Previous experience operating a HR vehicle
  • Previous experience in the waste industry
  • Certificate II in Waste Management (desirable)
  • Dangerous Goods License (desirable)
  • Positive Attitude and Team player
  • Good planning and organisational skills

In this role, you’ll discover:
Great people... and a company that cares
From your teammates in operations, to colleagues and partners across Veolia, you’ll find people who care about doing a good job. And you’ll belong in a company that truly cares - about the customer, the community, the environment... and you.

‘Team’ works here - it’s who we are
Reporting to the Supervisor, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

Stimulation and challenge, delivered
While ‘Operations’ is about process and rhythm, you’ll find plenty of variety in your role. In addition to driving, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

Opportunity and growth, there for the taking
In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our Operators have continued to progress their career with us, moving into supervisor, manager and site manager roles.
