The Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the growing team at our Dry Creek Thermal Treatment Facility. Our Thermal Treatment Facility ensures the safest treatment and permanent destruction of medical, quarantine, confidential and pharmaceutical waste. 

Reporting to the State Liquid & Hazardous Waste Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that facilities are maintained in order to safeguard technical integrity, and assist in developing strategies to improve reliability, efficiency and safety.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • On site electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair work
  • Fault Diagnosis - diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on site
  • Installation of electrical systems (earthing, switch board etc), PLC programming and rectifying any electrical hazards
  • Installation of equipment including, but not limited to, instruments, fittings, seals, pipework, pumps etc. Rectify and replace any mechanical hazards on site
  • On call support for emergency breakdowns at the incinerator, and external plant technical issues in regional SA (i.e. Moomba etc.)
  • Assist in maintenance of current process equipment and systems, and look to implement any new equipment/systems to improve overall profitability of the plant
  • Promote and continuously apply personal safety, environmental and quality awareness in the workplace


You’ll need:

  • An Electrical Trade Qualification and Cert III in an official course outlined under the Plumbers, Gas Fitters and Electricians Act 1995
  • A Cert III in Instrumentation and Control
  • Proven experience in PLC Programming 
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a process environment
  • EWP Ticket is desirable
  • MR Licence is desirable
