An opportunity has arisen for an Injury Prevention & Health Specialist to join our highly regarded SHEQ team based in Jandakot. 


Reporting to the Injury Prevention & Health Manager, you will provide injury prevention advice, health and occupational hygiene compliance support, and advice to operational management and support injured personnel to return to work efficiently. You will facilitate physical and mental health excellence and maximise company health management performance through engagement, training, monitoring, investigation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Be responsible for the quality of specific risk-based pre-employment and periodic medical assessments based on role exposure groups
  • Manage clinical providers for pre-employment medicals and ensure reporting is accurate and privacy is maintained
  • Analyse injury / incident trends and provide evidence-based injury prevention recommendations.
  • Monitor changes or developments in the relevant State/Country legislation, regulations and standards associated with health and wellbeing
  • Facilitate and support operations to implement appropriate health and wellbeing programs to support its current and future operational and strategic needs
  • Provide and maintain effective early intervention, return-to-work, and claims management support services in accordance with company policy and legal obligations
  • Develop return-to-work plans in consultation with medical providers, ACC, operational managers, injured employees and Health & Safety team members; and supervise their implementation
About You:


  • Graduate qualifications in a Health related field such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise science, health management, nursing, Workers’ Compensation or extensive industry experience in a similar position
  • Formal Return to Work Coordinator (RTW) qualification
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and problem solving with the ability to resolve and address issues as they arise
  • Working knowledge and understanding of all relevant safety and Workers’ Compensation legislation
  • Demonstrated experience implementing safety systems
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Certificate IV in Training, Assessing and Education (TAE) (desired)
  • First Aid Certificate (desired)
