The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ are currently looking for a Painter / Blaster to join the operations team at our Industrial service site in Portland. This role will be a Monday to Friday role and we would be looking to take someone on as casual with the potential for a permanent opportunity. This is a site based role so we would be looking for someone who is local to the site and can be there on a day to day basis. 

As a Painter and Blaster you will be required for  sand blasting and industrial painting using manual brush / roller, conventional / airless spray painting and grit blasting. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, will work in a safe and efficient manner and has a hands on approach.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

While ‘Operations’ is about process and rhythm, you’ll find plenty of variety in your role. In addition to operating the plant, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our Painters . Blasters have continued to progress their career with us, moving into supervisor, manager and site manager roles. 
 

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Industrial painting and blasting experience 
  • Relevant background; painter / scaffolder / labourer / driver 
  • HC license (desirable) 
  • Keen to learn 
  • Team player 
  • Hard worker 
  • Practical and Hands on
