The Opportunity
We are seeking an Estimation Manager with direct estimating and tendering experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial painting and protective coating projects. This is a specialist industrial role and requires someone who understands how blasting and painting work is scoped, estimated, resourced and delivered in the field.
Reporting to the Manager, Asset Maintenance and Preservation, you will lead estimating and tendering for industrial blasting, painting and protective coating projects. Familiarity with hot works, fabrication or welding activities would also be highly regarded.

What you’ll be responsible for
Leadership & Functional Management
-
Lead and develop the estimating function
-
Prioritise activities in line with tender pipeline and operational requirements
Estimating & Tendering
-
Lead preparation of accurate, competitive estimates and tender submissions
-
Analyse scopes, specifications, drawings and contracts to confirm project requirements

Calculate labour, materials, subcontractor costs, plant, overheads and margins
-
Identify and document technical, commercial, HSEQ and schedule risks

Maintain pricing databases, cost benchmarks and estimating tools
Tender Handover & Performance

Lead tender handovers to operations and project teams

Monitor actual costs against estimates and investigate variances

Conduct post-project reviews and incorporate lessons into future estimates
Governance, Compliance & Stakeholder Management

Maintain organised and version-controlled estimating and tender records

Ensure compliance with Veolia requirements, client obligations and legislation

Liaise effectively with clients, operations, HSEQ, finance, procurement and suppliers
What you’ll need to be successful
-
Direct estimating and tendering experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial painting and protective coatings
-
Strong practical knowledge of blasting and painting methods, productivity rates, coating systems, materials, access, containment and quality requirements

Experience preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions

Ability to assess labour, materials, subcontractors, plant, overheads, risks and margins

Ability to interpret coating specifications, technical drawings, scopes and contracts
-
Working knowledge of blasting and painting plant and equipment requirements for estimating and project delivery

Relevant trade or technical qualification, or substantial industry experience

Leadership, planning and stakeholder management skills

Proficiency in estimating systems and Microsoft Office

Current Australian driver’s licence
-
Exposure to hot works, fabrication, welding or mechanical repairs is highly regarded
