The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Planner/Estimator to join our team at Henderson Engineering Services, reporting to the Machining and Fitting Workshop Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate and competitive completion of pricing estimates and deliverables for all assigned jobs, while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.

What you'll be responsible for
-
Ensuring the timely provision of quality, consistent and competitive estimates and pricing, comprising all key cost elements

Analysing specifications, plans and related technical data to determine time, cost and labour requirements for jobs estimates

Compile comprehensive strip and assessment findings from trade team to facilitate precise job estimates

Procure required materials according to technical specifications and coordinate external service providers for project delivery

Actively participating in the handover of work/projects with other Business Units, ensuring all required information is clearly and completely received and relayed to operational teams

Liaising with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers to gather necessary information

Ensuring effective and continuous management of costs and efficient utilisation of resources to attain expected profit margins

Providing requested reports and updates as required

Participating in the development and implementation of strategies to continuously improve efficiency, reduce wastage/costs, eliminate errors, and enhance productivity

Building and maintaining effective working relationships with the entire team, clients, suppliers and other departments

Pro-actively reporting any complex, concerning or risk-bearing safety, quality, contract, financial or industrial relations issues to the Operations Manager in a timely manner

Ensuring completion of all processes to the requirements of the Company's man
What you'll need to be successful

Trade or higher qualifications

Minimum of 3 years' experience estimating in a manufacturing environment

High attention to detail

Excellent communication skills

Ability to effectively manage changes in competing priorities

Ability to manage complexity and multi task

Sound time management skills

Self-starting and able to work with minimal supervision
