The Opportunity

Veolia has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Chemical Engineer to join the Technical Project’s team. The Chemical Engineer will be responsible for delivering chemical cleaning and remediation projects.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Deliver chemical cleaning and remediation projects for our clients around Western Australia
  • A particular focus on volume washing and vapour phase methods, along with remediation and water treatment.
  • Provide knowledge of EPA regulations and guidelines around chemical handling, waste management and environmental impact in industry.
  • Assess scope of works, select appropriate methodology, and design effective treatment plans for various types of chemical and industrial contaminants common in the mining and heavy industry sectors.
  • Develop SOP’s, risk assessments and decontamination reports.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and the latest technology in chemical cleaning, water treatment and industrial services.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in chemical and process engineering.
  • Current drivers licence and a willingness to travel around the state.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering chemical cleaning and decontamination in an industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Practical experience in Quality, Environmental and OH&S Management systems including contractor management in industrial environments.
  • Display a high regard for customer service, working closely with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
