The Opportunity
 

Veolia is currently seeking to employ a Contracts Manager to oversee the Energy Recovery facilities across Australia.  The role requires an experienced and competent individual with an exceptional eye to detail, the successful candidate will be required to help develop and manage contract compliance, risk management strategies, retention and growth opportunities and effectively manage and further develop client relationships.

What you’ll be responsible for:
 

 

  • An interface with the relevant internal commercial, procurement, finance and legal teams on a range of commercial activities and will personally carrying out tasks or ensure delivery as appropriate
  • Help ensure major contracts are managed in a safe, legal and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Strategic contract reviews, and ensuring adherence to all client requirements and expectations are met
  • Communication of contract deliverables to the operations team ensuring all contract deliverables are submitted accordingly..
  • Management of client contractual negotiations and amendments including contract creep, client requests, general contract opportunities and variations. 
  • Formal contractual client responses
  • Maintenance of correspondence and records relevant to contract
  • Develop and recommend improvement opportunities / innovation that increases current contract terms
  • Liaise with major clients to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Internal and external reporting as required 
  • Ensuring tender contract terms and conditions are reviewed and approved by an appropriate internal legal review process 
  • Facilitate internal meetings with necessary business functions 
  • Monitoring of contract KPI’s and management 
  • Analyse all contracts's risk to the business. 
  • What you’ll need to be successful
  • At least 5 years working within a similar or highly relevant role 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or extensive experience within industry
  • Demonstrated delivery of negotiating commercial outcomes on a large program or project of works
  • Experience in managing tendering processes, contract variation and management of change control
  • procedures for procuring works and services from industry
  • Advanced communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and work well under pressure
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with MS or Google Suite
  • The ability to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with internal and external work colleagues
