The Opportunity

 

Our Gladstone workshop is looking for a skilled tradesman - Heavy Diesel Mechanic or similar that is not afraid to step outside of their comfort zone and give it a go. 

 

From auto electrical to fabrication to diagnostics to component changeouts - we do it all. Ultimately you will be a driven individual that will play a pivotal role in the overall team success.   

 

Reporting to the workshop supervisor you will be responsible for all servicing and maintenance activities within Veolia's workshop maintaining our fleet of commercial waste vehicles, trailers, light vehicles and associated plant and equipment.

What you'll be responsible for

 

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles, plant and equipment 

  • Knocking out your daily scheduled work tasks efficiently as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Leading Hand

  • Maintaining and completing work orders via Veolia digital maintenance system 

  • Keeping an eye on stock and parts levels, and flagging any discrepancies

  • Working in a safe manner

 

What you'll need to be successful

 

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or similar

  • HR Licence – this one's a must

  • A willingness to get stuck in across a variety of tasks

  • A team-first attitude and the drive to get the job done properly
